Stompy Green - (~75% winrate) - We have so many ways of dealing with big stompy green creatures, or just steal them, no real issues in this match up.īoros/White Aggro - (~65% winrate) - They can't finish quickly enough to be a problem. The decks running Yorion make it slightly harder for us, but I've had no problem with the extra 20 cards usually. Due to the way their deck works they help us with the mill as well, had many games where the enemy player couldn't play any cards since more card draw would just make him lose quicker. Mystical Dispute - Strictly meta card, gives us a fighting chance against counter heavy decks.įabled Passage - Ruin Crab enabler, often hold the activation as long as you can in case you draw more Crabs.ĤC Omnath (~80% winrate) - Our deck is just amazing against Omnath, they run no removal so our crabs are safe, we can counter the Cobra, or dismiss it before they do their combo, likewise with their Uro's and Omnaths, or the best case scenario, just STEAL their important pieces. Omen of the Sea, Into the Story - Card Draw Teferi's Tutelage - Our mid to late game way of finishing the game with our card draw. I've never actually used the Kicker ability. Also great as a finishing tool and against dredge decks to replenish the 8 graveyard target. Maddening Cacophony - In the unlucky case you didn't get Ruin Crab on turn 1, this is a great way of filling the enemy graveyard to the 8 spot we need for other cards. Lullmage's Domination - This is an amazing card, against Aggro, removes a threat AND gives you blocker, against Uro, you just get to grab their Uro. Stern Dismissal, Anticognition, Jwari Distruption, Glacial Grasp - Delay, delay, delay, I've played with different amount of each, as well as Into the Roil, but 2 mana dismissal is too costly against aggro decks, and the kicker ability is seldom worth it. Deals with aggro by being great 3 tougness blockers. Ruin Crab - Aggressively mulligan for it, we have card draw so we can get away with it for the most part, if you can get 2-3 of those out on the board, the game's practically over and I've had tons of people just surrender on the spot. Would love any tips to make it even stronger! While everyone else is hating the current Standard, I must say, after 100+ matches (59% winrate) in Platinum/Diamond with my mono blue mill, I'm loving it. I've been playing since Ravnica on Arena and have always wanted Mill to be "okay" but it never quite worked.
